Plans & Pricing

Free, Pro, and Agency tiers compared in detail - quotas, features, when to upgrade, and how billing works.

TraceLinker has three plans. Free is meant for evaluation and small-scale solo use. Pro is for freelance SEOs with a handful of clients. Agency is for agencies and in-house teams.

Free plan

The free plan is intentionally generous so you can evaluate every workflow without paying. What you get:

  • 1 audit per month of up to 100 items.
  • 5 monitored links with weekly checks.
  • 5 outreach drafts per month from the Reclaim engine.
  • Email transition notifications.
  • CSV upload (no GSC import - that's Pro+).
  • The full AI scoring, toxicity classifier, and disavow file generator on whatever you do audit/monitor.

What you don't get:

  • Daily or hourly checks.
  • GSC import.
  • Competitor gap analysis.
  • Public share URLs or PDF downloads.
  • White-label branding.

The free plan is permanent. No credit card required, no trial expiry, no nag screens. We make money on Pro and Agency upgrades, not by limiting Free until you crack.

Pro plan - $9 / mo

For freelance SEOs and solo operators with 3-10 client projects.

What it adds beyond Free:

  • 5 audits per month of up to 1,000 items each (so up to 5,000 audited links/month).
  • 100 monitored links with daily checks.
  • 50 outreach drafts per month.
  • 5 competitor gap analyses per month.
  • GSC import (one-click pull from Google Search Console).
  • Email + dashboard notifications (Free is email-only).
  • Affiliate program access.

The economics: at $9/mo across 5 active clients, your tool cost per client is $1.80/month. For freelance SEO retainer pricing of $250-500/client/month, this is well under 1% of revenue. Compare with Ahrefs Lite at $129/month - that's 26% of a single client's revenue.

When to upgrade from Free:

  • You hit the 10-monitored-link cap (most users hit this in week 1).
  • You want daily transition notifications instead of weekly.
  • You need to import a backlink list larger than 100 rows.
  • You want GSC import to skip the CSV export step.

Agency plan - $29 / mo

For agencies, in-house teams, and freelancers with 10+ clients.

What it adds beyond Pro:

  • 50 audits per month of up to 10,000 items each.
  • 1,000 monitored links with hourly checks (catch transitions in under an hour).
  • 500 outreach drafts per month.
  • 50 competitor gap analyses per month.
  • Public share URLs (unlimited).
  • PDF report downloads.
  • White-label branding (your logo, your colors, your name on shared reports and PDFs).
  • Email + Slack notifications.
  • Priority email support + Agency Slack channel.

The economics: at $29/mo across 15 clients, your tool cost per client is $1.93/month. For agency engagements of $1,500-5,000/client/month, this is well under 1% of revenue. The white-label feature alone justifies the upgrade for most agencies.

When to upgrade from Pro:

  • You serve clients who need branded deliverables.
  • You hit the 100-monitored-link cap.
  • You want hourly checks for paid placements.
  • You need to share read-only audit URLs with clients.

Annual billing

Pro is $90/year (save $18, equivalent to 2 free months). Agency is $290/year (save $58, equivalent to 2 free months).

Annual is billed up front, charged once, and renews on the anniversary. No mid-year refunds for downgrade or cancellation, but you keep all features until the renewal date.

Switching plans

Upgrade

Click your account avatar → Settings → Billing. Pick the new plan. Stripe Checkout charges the prorated difference and unlocks the new features immediately.

Settings billing page with Upgrade button

Downgrade

Same path. Pick a lower plan. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period - you keep your higher-tier features until then. After the period ends, your monitored links are kept in the database but checks pause if you exceed the new limit; same for audits.

If you downgrade from Agency to Pro and have 800 monitored links, the oldest 700 are paused (not deleted). You can selectively unpause to fit within your new 100-link cap, or upgrade back if you change your mind.

Cancel

Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription. Keeps you on the current paid tier until the period ends, then drops you to Free. All data is retained - you can reactivate anytime and pick up where you left off.

We don't auto-delete data on cancel. Audits, monitored links, drafts, and reports are preserved indefinitely on Free, just capped to Free quotas. Some features (like share URLs) become inaccessible but the underlying data persists.

Refunds

We offer a 30-day no-questions-asked refund on first-time monthly subscriptions. Email support@backlinkmonitor.com from the email on your account.

Annual subscriptions are non-refundable after the 30-day window, but we'll prorate a partial refund if there's a clear extenuating circumstance (e.g. site sold, business closed).

Stripe and billing

We use Stripe for all payments. Cards are stored by Stripe, not by us - we never see card numbers. Invoices for both monthly and annual are emailed automatically and downloadable from Settings → Billing.

Settings billing page with invoice list

For VAT/tax invoices for EU/UK users: include your VAT number in Settings → Billing → Tax info before subscribing. We add it to all invoices.

Custom plans / Enterprise

If you need:

  • More than 1,000 monitored links.
  • Multi-domain support in one account.
  • Single sign-on (SSO).
  • Custom data retention or DPA.

Email enterprise@backlinkmonitor.com. Custom plans start around $200/month and are quoted based on actual usage.

What we don't have

  • No metered billing - you pay a flat fee, not per-audit or per-link.
  • No "user seat" pricing - one account = one workspace, share access via your team's password manager or SSO.
  • No surprise overage fees - if you hit a quota, you get a 402 error and choose to upgrade. No silent overages.

Troubleshooting

My card was declined. Stripe handles all retries. If it failed permanently, you'll get an email asking you to update your card. Until you update, your subscription pauses but data is kept. Update the card and you immediately reactivate.

I was charged twice. Sometimes Stripe shows a temporary auth and a real charge in your statement. Wait 24 hours - if both still show, email support with the charge dates and we'll reconcile.

My subscription says "past due." Card update needed. Go to Settings → Billing → Update payment method.

I'm on Free but want to test Agency for 1 day. We don't offer a 1-day trial of Agency. The 30-day refund policy gives you effective trial coverage - subscribe, evaluate, refund within 30 days if it doesn't fit.
